Junior Scientist presents Model-o-thon — a platform for young children to showcase their creative skills and knowledge through a single project — a model! Transform your imagination into reality, fostering practical concepts, creativity, and design skills while rediscovering the joy of learning through hands-on experience in model making — a fundamental step in scientific exploration !!

Event Structure

Junior scientist provides a platform for young talents to rediscover creativity with the most fundamental and efficient starting step-model making.

  • Team Limit: The participating team should consist of NOT more than 3 members.
  • Format: All types of models (working and non-working) are acceptable and will be evaluated on the same grounds.
  • Presentation: Use of charts and paperwork for presentation is advisable.
  • Rounds: The event will consist of one round.

Competition Flow

  • 01Teams will be required to conceptualize their models in detail and deliver a presentation to the panel of judges. Judging time: 3 minutes per team.
  • 02The judges will ask questions regarding the working and applications of the models to test the conceptual understanding of the participants.
  • 03The team that stands out will win the competition!

Trash is just a treasure waiting to be built !!

Examples: Solar oven from a pizza box, Plastic spoon water wheel, Self watering plastic bottle planter, Rubber band powered rover, etc

9-12

Tech for the planet

Design.Build.Green

Examples: gravity based water harvesting systems, waste segregation, renewable energy, natural cooling systems, etc

Note: The event will consist of one round.

General Instructions

01.

Participants should be well-equipped with all essential materials.

02.

Only water and electricity will be provided.

03.

Parents and teachers will not be allowed in the exhibition hall.

04.

Use of inflammable materials will not be allowed.

05.

It is advisable for the participants to bring tiffin.

06.

Participants will be responsible for the safekeeping of their models and valuables.
